LID day!!!!!

After over a year of collecting we have a very full corridor, boxes and boxes of lids.
It was time to take our boxes of lids outside and show everyone what 200,000 looks like.
Our wonderful buddy class Room 1 joined us at 9 to start setting out the lids.
 We started off making 10 rows of 10 lids. A hundred lid square.10 squares made 1000. 10 X 100 = 1000.
Lots of classes came out to help. 10 rows of 1000 made 10,000.
At lunchtime we had made 5 groups of 10,000. We had 50,000 lids laid out.
After lunch we got the whole school to come out and help. It was time to use the rest of the lids to make pictures and patterns, anything they wanted.
This is what 200,000 lids look like!

If this is what 200,000 lids looks like, what would a million look like? 5 times this!!!!!!

Well done everyone. Thanks for joining us on our LID journey. Thanks to everyone who collected lids for us. Thanks to all the kids who gave up their lunchtimes to count and sort lids.
We have loved collecting lids.
Now lets get creative!
